unit costs than from UK. However, the current flow quantity in air from US to
those countries can not be identified due to the reason that data for US export
can not be spilt by transport mode. In the base case, the annual throughputs
are all included as the sea freight demand. (See Table 5-3) However, the huge
cost saving by changing airfreight routes is apparent from the comparative
analysis. Therefore, for those US titles currently exported to these countries
with airfreight, it is recommended that the future supply point should be from
the UK DC. Even the stock should be located in the US DC for the US titles,
relocate part of the stock to the UK by sea or transhipped directly at the UK
airport may gain cost saving.
