MARGINS
The main NSSS equipment features (core power rating, pressurizer size, Steam Generator* water inventory, etc.) shall be sized by the Plant Designer* with sufficient margin to guarantee that the safety and performance Targets* are achievable.
For the core and the NSSS design, specific design margins shall be implemented that will be kept at the Operator*'s disposal.
The core and the NSSS of the standard plant shall be capable of its rated power with various combinations of core reloads and operational regimes so that it can meet the needs of the operators during the entire life of the plant.
