Yippie кстати, вопрос интересный. Для меня до сих пор это в каком-то смысле дилемма - the или без the. Вот что говорил на одном из форумов какой-то гражданин UK: In future' often has the sense of 'next time' as in: In view of the delays experienced at airports where security checks take a long time I have decided in future to go by train when I go on holiday. 'In the future' is much more expansive as in: In the future motorists will be buying cars that have much better fuel efficiency than is the case at the moment. Не знаю, верить ему или нет... |

In future, - в BrE 1) "с этого момента" ("С этого момента я езжу только автобусом" и 2) "на будущее" ("На будущее учти, я таких вещей не прощаю"), in the future - "в будущем" |
| I always thought that "in future" was akin to "lorry" and "telephone box," that is a distinctly British way of saying things. I don't think there is a shade of meaning that would justify an American speaker in saying "in future." I think it's always "in THE future" on this side of the pond." |
