The installation of the TLC into an existing motor bus system is shown to be easily accomplished with only minor modifications to the existing transfer schemes. The syncrotran relay system provides the industry with a comprehensive approach to providing safe and reliable motor bus transfers.

Finally, the phase of Vs may also change when A is opened. The resultant phase difference due to these three factors may completely eliminate the possibility of using the Fast Transfer method
The functional differences can be most easily understood using the typical voltage and phase curve of Figure 8. The three types of transfer are illustrated by the three zones shown in Pigure 8.

The TLC is used with BECO's previously developed Power Transfer Relay. This relay system, SYNCROTRAN, performs the Fast, In Phase, and Residual Voltage Transfer functions required for a complete bus transfer system. (See Figure 10.)
The Power Transfer Relay (PTR) does the calculations and initiates the closing for the In Phase Transfer

Synchronous Transfer Control - The Synchronous Transfer Control issues an activate input signal to the PTR during the synchronous transfer time window. This enables the PTR to close the breaker, using the In Phase Transfer technique
The Auto Transfer Window Timer operates differently dependent on which control input is used.
