Subject: clearance of such cheque fin.
Any dividend or other moneys payable in respect of a Share may be paid by cheque sent by post to the registered address of the person so entitled. If two or more persons are the holder of the Share or are jointly entitled to it, such cheque shall be mailed to the registered address of that person who is first named in the register of Members or to such person and to such address as the person or persons entitled may by notice in writing to the Secretary direct. Every such cheque shall be made payable to the order of the person or persons entided, or to such other person as the person or persons entitled may by notice in writing to the Secretary direct, and clearance of such cheque shall be a good discharge to the Company.

'such (cheque etc)' (without an 'a' after the 'such') is a legalese way of saying 'the (cheque or whatever) I've just mentioned' or just 'this'.

Another example:
'Notice of intention to vacate the house must be given to the Landlord at least 28 days in advance, such notice to be accompanied by the final 28 days' rent'.
