Subject: впереди паровоза Мне нужно адекватное фразеологическое выражение на английском, которое бы передавало ту же функцию, которую передают наши:"Не беги впереди паровоза" Банальное "не спеши" не могу использовать. Оговорка: выражение должно быть не грубым. Заранее спасибо :) |

to put cart before the horse - put things in wrong order; something backwards or mixed up. - An overused expression. Usually used with "put" but sometimes with "get" or "have". When the salesman wanted money for goods he hadn't delivered, I told him he was putting the cart before the horse. To get married first and then get a job is getting the cart before the horse. | Я не соглашусь с put cart before the horse, потому что это выражение имеет "пассивное" значение и чаще означает что-то перепутать. В жизни же, в ситуациях, когда русский бы сказал "бежать впереди паровоза", используется to jump the gun. Так что, рекомендую. |
