| Thanks y'all. I got it. Doesn't sound very appealing. Then again, in America ( down South that is ) we eat pickled eggs and pig's feet. So, go figure. |

Valle, тут дело не в том, что это ливерная колбаса из субпродуктов. Та же Leberwurst в Германии - очень даже вкусный продукт. Тут дело в том, что она была из совсем уж "плохих субпродуктов". Как говорится, "из крысиных хвостиков". Поэтому для себя её покупали, даже в советское время -- когда народ был не избалован колбасой сколь-нибудь высокого качества -- только совсем уж бедные люди. Остальные покупали (иногда, т.к. и у них денег было немного), чтобы свою собачку порадовать. |

All right, y'all. I'm confused now. Can ( or rather should ) you actually eat it? Is it dog food or human? Is it the same crap as Jerrie's Liverwurst? I've never even seen anything remotely close to it, or have I? We have Spam, godawful shit. Am I close? |

| Context? A Russian girl here I know, says that all we eat here in America is собачья радость. Trying to figure out if she is just being a smart ass. And wether she is pretty much calling us "dogs", or unhappy with what we eat. |

Valle, yeah, "бычки в томате" is a soviet era meme. "как много он потерял!" definitely does not mean you missed any nutrition ;) in this sense, it is a bit of self-irony (i can be corrected here) what you did miss is you were not lucky to live in those times - they had their own beauty and charm ;) (no, i do not want them back) |

| конечно, это не суп. по правилам, вытаскивать бычки надо прямо из консервной банки, поставленной на газетку, где-нибудь в гараже (подальше от глаз жены). Ресторанный антураж на фото несколько искажает суть продукта |
