Over the last year, Dr. Mitchell and other Concrete Canada investigators have been busy testing FRC by applying simulated earthquakes to model bridges with 1960s-style construction. They found that FRC works well and they are now testing another kind of concrete called flowable concrete. Normal concrete is difficult to place in framework containing closely placed reinforcing bars. Flowable concrete, on the other hand, is easy to place.
